Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and it’s going to go by even faster than you think! Therefore, it is vital that you feel comfortable with your photographer. I would like you to relax and enjoy every moment! And know that I’ll be capturing your day for you to remember forever!

I have a very natural approach and I don’t like to be in the spotlight. It’s your day and I’ll do my best to help you enjoy it !!

The most important thing is that you enjoy the day and just be yourself!

Secondly, you can ensure good lighting. One of the most important things for a photographer, is light. The amount of light available in a room often determines the outcome of the photos. If you like natural photos then for your bridal prep images I suggest you book a spacious guest house/hotel room with lots of natural light, white walls are always preferred!

For your reception, please ensure that you don’t only have candle light, but also some other form of lighting. The more light, the better the photos your turn out. Uplighters are great for dancing shots!

Of course, I shoot weddings all over Scotland and even abroad.

Collections include travelling expenses up to 50 miles total from the IV2 postcode. After this travel is charged at 50 pence per mile.

Sometimes for larger weddings. I will make you aware of this before your wedding day if that is going to the be the case.

Whilst I love working with natural light, this is Scotland and we can’t always promise sunshine, so when needed I do use a flash.

Don’t worry. I’ve plenty of experience of shooting weddings in the rain and whilst a sunny day is obviously preferable we’ll get some great photos whatever the weather.

No, unfortunately I don’t take photos of the different tables. I do however take candid shot of people, listening to speeches, laughing and enjoying the evening. If you want to ensure you have photos of all your guests, I suggest you book a photo booth separately.

No, I am also available for commercial work. Please visit my commercial website at www.charnehawkes.co.uk

I shoot with professional Nikon gear, my current camera of choice is the Mirrorless Nikon Z6 combined with Nikon’s top of the range lenses.

I carry backup pieces of all my key equipment.

Unfortunately not.
